Got a sewer inspection before buying, now I'm paranoid about everything
#1

We're in escrow on a 1950s ranch and the inspector suggested we get the sewer line scoped before closing. I'd never even heard of that until now. The company came out, ran a camera, and found some root intrusion and a low spot where stuff was pooling. They recommended sewer inspection and hydro jetting in Palo Alto to clear it out and then monitor it. Now I'm sitting here wondering if we should walk away or just budget for repairs down the line. The seller isn't willing to fix anything so it's on us either way. Has anyone bought a house with a sketchy sewer line and regretted it? How much did it end up costing you long term? I'm tempted to just do the hydro jetting and hope for the best but I don't want to be naive about it either. Any advice from people who've been through this would really help because we need to decide in the next few days.
