So I walked out to my garage this morning, pressed the start button on my DB11, and absolutely nothing happened. Just complete silence, not even a click. I've had this car for about two years now and it's been perfect, never given me a single issue, but I guess the heat here has finally caught up with the battery because it's completely dead. I managed to get a jump from my neighbor but I know that's just a temporary fix and I need to get a proper replacement sorted before I end up stranded somewhere. The thing that worries me though is that I've heard so many horror stories about people taking their Astons to regular garages and ending up with all sorts of electrical problems afterwards. Apparently these cars are really sensitive when it comes to batteries, you can't just put any old battery in there, it has to be the right specification and apparently there's some kind of coding procedure that needs to be done so the car's computer knows the battery has been replaced. I've been reading some forums and some people say the car won't even start properly if the battery isn't coded correctly, and others say the start-stop system will stop working or you'll get warning lights on the dash that won't go away. I'm based in Sharjah and I really don't want to have to drive all the way to Dubai just to get this sorted. I've seen a few places around that claim to work on luxury cars but I'm always skeptical because anyone can say that, it doesn't mean they actually know what they're doing with a British car. What I'm looking for is something like top Aston Martin battery replacement in Sharjah, because I want someone who has actual experience with these cars and knows exactly what to do, not just a general mechanic who's going to figure it out as they go along. I called a couple of places and one of them didn't even know that Aston Martin uses a specific type of AGM battery, which immediately made me cross them off the list. The other place said they could do it but they sounded really vague about the coding part, which made me nervous. Has anyone here actually had their Aston Martin battery replaced in Sharjah and had a good experience? I really need a place that knows what they're doing, has the right diagnostic equipment, and can do the whole job properly from start to finish. I don't mind paying a fair price for quality work, I just don't want to end up with more problems than I started with because someone didn't know what they were doing. I'm also curious about the battery itself, should I go with a genuine Aston Martin battery or is there an aftermarket brand that's just as good? I've heard some people recommend certain brands but I always worry about putting anything non-genuine in a car like this. Also, does anyone know if the battery is located in the trunk or under the hood? I've heard different things about different models and I want to make sure whoever does the job knows where to look.
