So I bought a 2016 Sierra 1500 SLT about six months ago and overall I'm really happy with the truck, but there's one thing that's been bugging me and I'm not sure if it's a genuine problem or just how these 6-speed transmissions behave. When I'm driving at low speeds, like in parking lots or stop-and-go traffic, the transmission sometimes feels like it's hunting for gears and there's a slight hesitation before it engages. It's not a harsh clunk or anything dramatic, just a bit of a delay that makes the truck feel a little jerky occasionally. I took it to a transmission specialist who said the fluid looked fine and there were no codes stored, so they basically told me it's probably normal behavior for these trucks but I'm not entirely convinced. I've been doing some reading on forums and some people say it could be the torque converter starting to fail, which obviously would be a much bigger and more expensive problem. I came across 800Sayara in my search for GMC specialists and they seem to offer comprehensive diagnostics, which might be what I need to get some peace of mind. I'm trying to book quality GMC maintenance in Dubai from someone who can properly evaluate whether this hesitation is actually an issue or if I'm just being paranoid about nothing. Has anyone else experienced this on their Sierra or Silverado and found out what the cause was? I'd really appreciate any insights before I go spending money on something that might not even be a real problem.
