My Tiguan's AC is struggling in this heat, any garage recommendations? - isaachawkesworth - 09-08-2026

I've had my Tiguan for about four years now and honestly it's been pretty solid overall, but this summer the AC just isn't cutting it anymore. It blows cool air when I first start driving but after about twenty minutes in the afternoon heat it starts getting warm again and I'm left rolling down the windows which is just miserable. I've already tried recharging the gas and checked the cabin filter but nothing seems to make a lasting difference. I'm based in Abu Dhabi and I've been looking around for a specialist who really understands these vehicles because I don't want some general mechanic messing around with the compressor and making things worse. A friend pointed me to https://zenfoautoservices.ae/volkswagen-repair-abu-dhabi/ and said they're pretty good with German cars but I wanted to see if anyone here has actually taken their VW there and had a good experience. I'm particularly worried about the cost because I know AC repairs can get expensive if they start talking about replacing the whole system. Has anyone dealt with a similar issue on their Tiguan or even a Golf? What was the root cause and roughly how much did it set you back? Really appreciate any advice because driving around like this is getting unbearable.
