I finally did it – after years of dreaming and saving and telling myself it would never happen, I actually bought a 2017 911 Carrera and I'm still pinching myself every time I walk into the garage and see it sitting there. The car is absolutely stunning in silver with a black interior and it's in incredible condition for its age, but now I'm absolutely terrified of doing something stupid and ruining the paintwork because I've never owned a car this nice before and I have no idea how to look after it properly. I've been reading up on the best washing techniques, the right products to use, all that sort of thing, but honestly it's a bit overwhelming and I'm paranoid that I'll end up putting swirl marks in it or damaging the clearcoat if I try to do it myself. A couple of the guys in the Porsche owners group I joined have mentioned that the best thing you can do is get it professionally detailed and coated by people who really understand these cars, and they said that finding genuine Porsche detailing specialists in Abu Dhabi is actually easier than you'd think because there are a few places that have built a solid reputation over the years. I'm planning to get it done as soon as possible because I want to protect the paint before it picks up any more marks, but I'd love to hear from anyone who's had a similar experience with their Porsche – did you go for ceramic coating or PPF, and which one would you recommend for daily driving? I use the car most days so it's going to see plenty of road use and I want to make sure I'm getting the right protection. Also keen to hear if anyone's had any particularly good or bad experiences with any of the detailing places around town because I want to make sure I'm handing my pride and joy to people who are going to treat it with the same care and attention that I would. I know this is probably overthinking it a bit but I just want to do right by this car because it's the most expensive thing I've ever bought and I want it to stay looking beautiful for as long as possible.
