Just got my Tiguan back and I'm genuinely impressed - isaachawkesworth - 08-28-2026

I'll be honest, I was bracing myself for the worst when I dropped off my 2019 Tiguan last week because the air conditioning had completely given up on me and I just knew it was going to be a complicated and expensive fix in this heat. The fan was working but the air was coming out lukewarm at best, which is basically useless when we're getting temperatures well into the forties, and I'd already tried re-gassing it myself which did absolutely nothing so I knew it was something more serious. I'd been putting it off for a few days because I was dreading the whole process of finding a garage, getting a quote, and then having to argue about whether the work was actually necessary or just them trying to inflate the bill. A neighbour who drives a Passat recommended a place he's been using for years and said they really know their way around VWs, so I figured I'd give them a shot even though it was a bit further from home than I'd normally go. When I picked the car up they'd not only fixed the AC – which turned out to be a faulty compressor clutch – but they'd also noticed that my rear brake pads were getting low and replaced them without me even asking, which I thought was really proactive and saved me a second trip. They explained everything clearly, showed me the old parts, and the whole experience was just so much smoother than I expected that I actually felt a bit silly for having stressed about it so much. I was chatting with the guy at the counter and he mentioned that they see a lot of Tiguans and Touaregs, and it really showed because they diagnosed the problem in about twenty minutes whereas a general garage probably would have spent hours scratching their heads. If you're ever looking for a proper Volkswagen specialist in ICAD, I can't recommend these guys highly enough because they genuinely seem to care about getting it right rather than just rushing through the job. It's such a relief to have cold air again and to know I've found somewhere I can trust with my car going forward, because that peace of mind is honestly worth just as much as the quality of the work itself. Anyway, just wanted to share a positive experience for once because I feel like we're always quicker to complain than we are to give credit where it's due.
